Thursday afternoon we decided to take a walk down to the lake.  I spotted this rather large fungi beside the road on our way.

The trees are just starting to turn.  It should be really beautiful here soon.

Today, Friday, we took our maiden voyage in our new Sea Eagle!  We’ve been wanting to get out on the water, and today was the day.  I got everything ready…

and soon it was time to go.

We didn’t venture out too far on our first outing, but we were out on the water for almost an hour and a half.  There were no major problems, and we didn’t even capsize!Surprised smile  We even made it back to the same spot we started from!

In the picture above it appears that we may have lost something while we were out!  Actually, though, I had already removed the seats and taken them up to the car when I decided to take this picture. Rolling on the floor laughing
We’re looking forward to getting back out on the water very soon!

  1. It's always a good thing when you don't capsize. :)

  3. Isn't life on the water great!? We are by the Cumberland River, and we want to take ours out this week as the temps are going to be perfect!

  4. I really like the inflatable seats in your Sea Eagle. We have a different model and the seats are a pain to set up and a pain to sit in. I may have to see if your style will fit.

  5. We've enjoyed our Sea Eagle, too. Glad you've had a chance to try yours out. One thing we found is there is no pretty way to get in and out of it. We almost look like a pair of clowns when we climb in and out.

Actually we do look like a pair of clowns in most things we do! :c)

  6. Isn't it fun? It's just so peaceful out on the water ...unless there's a big breeze blowing :)

  7. Congratulations on your successful paddling. You didn't mention if Terri was working on her LPSKC (Linda Payne School of Kayaking Certificate). I certainly hope so. It looks like it was a great day for it. Beautiful lake.

  11. A Sea Eagle is on our short list to get. We have a couple of regular Kayaks, but an inflatable will be easier to pack and travel with. Have fun with it!!!

  12. I'm new to your blog and I love it. Kayaking is on my list of things I'd love to do but probably won't ever happen because the smallest water vehicle he feels comfortable in is a cruise ship :)
