Breakfast, Car maintenance, and a UFO sighting???

Wednesday 3/14/2012

Deer Run RV Park

Troy, AL

Yesterday we went to breakfast with Robert and Becky.  They recommended Waffle House.  They go there enough that they actually know many of the employees.  We used to go to Waffle House quite often when we were traveling just by car, so that was a good choice for us.  It had been a long time since we had been to one.  The food was great and the company even better.

Later, Terri and I headed north up to Montgomery.  After quick stops at the recycle bins and Family Dollar, we went to the local Honda dealer.
We had the oil and filter changed in the Element.  They also did a tire rotation and a four wheel alignment.  After all that, we headed home.

As we approached our campground site, we spied this “UFO” that had landed behind our rig!!!
At first it was located right next to our site, but during the night it “moved” completely into our site.  Normally we park one of our vehicles in that spot, but not now.  It had an interesting “tether” attached to it.  I could see that it led over to the “mother ship” TWO sites away!!  If you look closely, you can see the “tether” leading to the “mother ship” beyond our fifth wheel in this photo.
Luckily, the “aliens” decided to take off today and we got our parking spot back.Smile  I wanted to mention that I thought the “aliens” were rather bold and inconsiderate, but I decided to keep this post more positive and upbeat.Who me?

  1. Lol. Yup, very inconsiderate of those aliens ;-)

  2. Wow, that boggles my mind. I can't imagine doing that - certainly takes some nerve, and seems very inconsiderate to me.

  3. We had an "alien" about 2 feet from our MH one time. It was shaped more like a flying saucer though.

It left early in the morning so we didn't complain about it.

    Very bold and inconsiderate.

  4. You gotta do what you gotta do to get that signal from the home planet :) But, they should have asked the residents if it was OK.

  5. So where did you park your car??

You are definitely more positive and upbeat than I. I would have picked the thing up and moved it back over and their site and parked my car. :-)

  6. Ahh, looks like your neighbors could get a signal on their automatic satellite finder only by locating it on your property. Rather inconsiderate I would say. You would think they'd at least come over and ask if it was ok. Jim

  7. I think bold and inconsiderate covers it nicely. Maybe where they come from this is considered acceptable. Lucky for you they decided to go back where they came from! :)

  8. The mothership occupants were very trusting that nobody came along and scooped up that UFO.

Good thing you saw it before you parked the car on it. That might have opened up a whole different kind of "March Madness"! ;c)

  9. It's just so difficult to go a few days without contact with the home planet.
I think we would have moved it to park the car and then gone to their door and said "Sorry if we messed up your signal but you messed up our parking spot."

  10. On a different note, that is one Evil looking kitty in your header picture. Don't know if I could sleep at night with that one lurking
