City of Roses RV Park

Thomasville, GA

(NOTE:  DUE TO A RECENT LAPTOP MALFUNCTION, WE’RE EXTREMELY BEHIND ON OUR BLOG.  PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTEN WHILE WE GET CAUGHT UP.)

On Sunday, 1/13, we left Cain’s Creekside RV Park and drove southwest to City of Roses RV Park in Thomasville, GA.  We chose this stop because it’s on our way, it’s a Passport America park, it has 50 amp full hook-ups with cable, it’s satellite dish friendly, and it’s only $15 per night.  However, we found there are quite a few trailers in this park that have not been moved for many years!  Many of them are not in good condition.  Some have plastic tarps draped over them, and one has a roof built over the top of it.  Most of the guests staying here are permanent residents.  The people I spoke with were all friendly, but we just didn’t feel very comfortable here.  There are train tracks right next to the park with a railroad crossing.  The trains move by very slowly (with horns sounding) periodically throughout the day and night.  The 5 or 6 “overnight” pull-through sites are grassy, fairly level, and located smack dab in the center of the campground providing great entertainment to the locals upon arrival and setup.  We arrived Sunday afternoon amidst a plethora of classic rock, country music, and screaming/laughing/playing children to listen to until about 6 PM when the park went silent.

We stayed two nights, Sunday and Monday.  Even though we didn’t have any problems during our stay, next time we’ll pass on this one.  Winking smile

Tomorrow we head further west and south.

  1. I'll be sure to add that park to our "do not call" list :)
Isn't it nice that we can just pack up and move when we find ourselves in a less than favorable park?

  3. You guys are real troopers to have stayed 2 nights here. Thanks for the warning. All Passport America parks are not created equal that's for sure. Wish there had been some reviews on this one to give you the heads up.

  5. Satellite friendly and $15/night? What's not to love? All that free music and trains running through the back of the campground, how could you ever think of moving on??? ;c)
